Situated approximately 16 kilometers to the east of Paphos city itself and close to both Mandria and Kouklia, Paphos International Airport has become a prominent gateway into this part of Cyprus. It is the country’s second largest airport, after Larnaca International Airport. Paphos airport is commonly used by tourists on holiday in western Cyprus. Paphos Airport is well placed for those looking to reach the holiday resorts and villages of Emba, Khlorakas, Kolossi, Kouklia, Mandria and Yeroskipou, while both Episkopi Bay and Limassol are also nearby and to the south-east. The airport features just one passenger terminal and handles a regular throughput of almost two million passengers on a yearly basis, heading to destinations within Europe, the Middle East and the United Kingdom. Airlines such as Cyprus Airways, First Choice, Thomas Cook, Thomsonfly and XL Airways use a total of 16 different check-in counters and five gateways. The B6 Highway connects the airport with the city of Paphos and by car, the ride lasts around 15 minutes. Passengers can also rent a car at Paphos airport. Those requiring refreshments will find a coffee shop, restaurant and bar available within Paphos Airport, along with several good shops and an outlet for duty-free shoppers. You can also find bank at the airport. In May 2006, Hermes Airports Limited took over the construction, development and operation of Larnaca and Paphos airports for a period of 25 years. A new revamped terminal for Paphos opened in November 2008. There are 150 short-term parking spaces at the airport. In addition, there is a new car park offering long-term parking with 24-hour security and free shuttle to the airport.
