Car rental Cyprus - Rent a car Cyprus

PaphosAirportCarRental.com helps finding your car rental Cyprus deal from our global partners.

Cyprus is an island in the Mediterranean Sea, south of Turkey. After Sicily and Sardinia, Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. Although the island lies close to the Middle East, it is considered to be a European country and is a member of the European Union. Cyprus is an island divided in to two halves, the North and the South sides. The Northern side is Turkish and the southern side is Greek. Nicosia/Lefkosia, the capital, has a wealth of history, preserved Venetian walls surrounding the city, some wonderful bars and restaurants within the old walls of the city and of course the green line, the dividing line with the Turkish part of Cyprus, which cuts through the centre of Nicosia, now the only divided capital. Four large cities punctuate the island, with Lefkosia, the capital in the centre, and Larnaca, Lemesos and Paphos along the southern coast. They are busy modern commercial and business centers, with old town centers with picturesque historical buildings, where you can wander along narrow streets and browse through interesting markets and shopping centers. The eastern coast is famous for its fine white sandy beaches with shallow turquoise waters. Deep water bays with rocky outcrops are perfect for snorkeling or diving. The long finely packed grey sand of the southern coast lend themselves to long winter walks or jogging, while the secluded coves of the western coast beckon when you want to be alone. For those, interested in renting a car when visiting the island: car rental is possible in Paphos airport and Larnaca airport. Cyprus has a very long history that goes back more than 9000 years. The island has many historical sites to visit, dating from the New Stone Age through to the Roman Empire. The islands history can be fully appreciated by the visitor. Cypriot food bears a distinct resemblance to Greek cooking, and uses lemons and olives extensively.
